Fredrickson, Jack E. 1937-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Jack Edward Fredrickson, 87, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at Benton House Assisted Living, in Blue Springs, Missouri. He was born to Edythe and Oscar Edward Fredrickson on Sept. 6, 1937, in St. Joseph. He graduated from Benton High School class of 1955. After graduation he was employed at the St. Joseph Stockyards for eight years. He went on to work for the Missouri Gas Service where he retired after 30 years of service. He also served in the Missouri National Guard and was a proud member of the 180th Bomb squadron.
On May 2, 1959, he married the love of his life, Nancy, and they went on to have three children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Jack loved to play basketball, golf, bowling and softball. He was the Marshall at Fairview golf course and enjoyed the many friendships that came with the job. He was also a beloved coach to many, including all of his children, and was proud to have won many city basketball championships and tournaments.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy J. Fredrickson, and son, Steve Fredrickson.
He is survived by daughters, Tracy (Joe) Kerner, of Derby, Kansas, and Angie (Phil) Giegerich, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; grandchildren, Ryan and Kyle Kerner, Tyler and Zack Fredrickson, and Kade and Kellen Giegerich, great-grandchildren, Madelynn Kerner, Scarlett, Mikey and Stevie Fredrickson.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at the Rupp Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers friends can donate to St. Jude.
