Long, James R. 1951-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

James Richard Long, 73, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 10, 2025. He was born on Oct. 17, 1951, in St. Joseph, to Clarland and Helen Long.

James dedicated his life to service, both to his country and his community. He proudly served in the United States Air Force before providing for his family with a 42-year career in Nuclear Medicine at Mosaic Life Care.

On Sept. 29, 1973, he married the love of his life, Patricia Rose Torres, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories in St. Joseph.

James had a lifelong passion for reading and learning. He found joy in his grandchildren, being mischievous, and time spent with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarland and Helen Long.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; his children, Matthew, Jesse, and Jon Eric Long; his daughters-in-law, Kirstie Healey and Michele Massari-Cox; and his adored grandchildren, Connor Easter and Gracie Long.
