Geib, Carol 1947-2025 Ottumwa, Iowa

OTTUMWA, Iowa – Carol Diane Geib, 77, of Ottumwa, Iowa, died on Feb. 7, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, from Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Carol was born April 28, 1947, in Des Moines, to Robert and Mary Keller Copeland. She married Jerry H. Geib on Nov. 7, 1971, and they had two daughters, Jennifer and Johanna.

Carol graduated from Waukee High School (1965), Northwest Missouri State University (1970), and Iowa Methodist Hospital School of Medical Technology (1970). She worked for 40 years as a Medical Technologist in various labs in Missouri and Iowa, most recently at LCL/CLS Clinical Labs, in Ottumwa. She retired in 2010, after working there for 25 years.

Carol was a member of the Wapello County Master Gardeners for many years. Besides avid gardening, she enjoyed yardwork, reading, playing bridge, and dabbling in genealogy.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry; her daughters, Jennifer Geib (Michael Osbourn), of Boone, North Carolina, and Johanna Goodwin (Chris), of Ottumwa; grandchildren, Ashley Goodwin, Madison (Justin) Wilkinson, Sage Goodwin (Trevor Cloyed), and Henry Osbourn; great-grandchildren, Kallan Goodwin, Allyson Lewis, Lincoln Wilkinson, and Norah Goodwin-Anderson.

Her body has been cremated. A time to celebrate her life will be held in the spring. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
