Dougan, Nancy 1941-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Nancy Dougan, 83, St. Joseph, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2025. She was born Oct. 13, 1941, in St. Joseph, to HaroldBell “Tut” and Margarite (Myers) Dougan. Nancy grew up in St. Joseph and graduated from Benton High School.

Nancy worked at C.D. Smith, New York Life and Mutual of Omaha before a long stint as a supervisor at the St. Jo Frontier Casino, from which she retired in 2009.

Nancy enjoyed needlepoint, gardening, yardwork, and traveling. A kind person who always put others first, she had a big heart with much love for family, friends, and animals, especially cats.

She was preceded in death by her father, HaroldBell “Tut” Dougan; mother, Margarite “Peggy” Moe; and longtime companion, Charles Buffey.

Survivors include grandson, Gregory Clutter; three great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Dougan (Sherry); and close friend Teri Golden.

Natural Farewell under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment Mount Mora Cemetery at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions to the ASPCA.
