Blanton, Sue A. 1950-2025 Troy, Kan.

TROY, Kan. – Sue Ann (Taylor) Blanton, 74, of Troy, Kansas, passed away Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph. Sue was born on April 29, 1950, to Bennie and Alice (Plautz) Taylor.

She graduated from Troy High School in 1968 and was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Wathena, Kansas. Sue worked for Mead Products for 30 years and retired from Prime Tanning, now known as National Beef. She was the Board Secretary of the Stationary Credit Union and was the secretary of the Senior Council at the Pioneer Center of Troy.

Sue married Richard Blanton on Oct. 2, 1982, in Troy. He preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors, son, Anthony Taylor (Brooke), St. Joseph; grandchildren, Kylee Lewallen (Eddie), St. Joseph, Caitlyn Taylor (Daniel), South Hadley, Massachusetts, Hayden Taylor, Iowa Falls, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Cordelia, Ryder, Leo and one on the way, Blake; sisters, Carol Jean Wulf (Willis), Mount Vernon, Iowa, Debbie Durbin (Gary), Basehor, Kansas; brother, Tim Taylor, Troy; many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, at the Christ Lutheran Church, Wathena. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home, Troy, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday. Inurnment at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the KU Cancer Center.
