Holcomb, Jean L. 1940-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Jean L. Holcomb, 84, St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born on Aug. 12, 1940, in Bethany, Missouri, to Fred and Dorothy (Williams) Klindt.
Mrs. Holcomb worked in numerous places in St. Joseph. Among them were Parisoff Grocery, Belt American Bank and the FDIC in St. Joseph.
While working for FDIC, she also worked in Kansas City, Chicago and Dallas.
Jean married Gerald Holcomb on Aug. 25, 1958, in Coffey, Missouri. They celebrated 58 years of marriage, before his passing on March 9, 2017.
Jean and Gerald raised their family in Faucett, Missouri. They built a retirement home in Bella Vista, Arkansas, and lived there until 2008. For decades Gerald and Jean spent their winters in Mission, Texas
In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by brother, Larry Mullins; and son-in-law, Richard McCollum.
Jean is survived by her children, Tony Holcomb, Lois McCollum, Steve and Stephanie Holcomb, Brad and Angela Holcomb; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Langdon; sister-in-law, Kay Mullins; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday evening, Feb. 7, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Memorial contributions to Mosaic Hospice. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
