Wineinger,Scott 1952-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Luther “Scott” Wineinger, 72, of St Joseph, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, at his home surrounded by family following a 15 year battle with cancer. He was born May 25, 1952, in St. Joseph, son of Lettie and Luther Wineinger.
Scott graduated from Benton High School, class of 1970. On Nov. 2, 1979, he married Sandy Shroyer, in St. Joseph.
Scott was a United States Army Veteran. He worked at Black Gunite Concrete products, served as Pastor at the Soul’s Harbor Church for 15 years and spent the last 18 years as a grounds keeper at the St. Joseph Country Club. He was a hard worker, enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching westerns. He was an avid KC Chiefs and KC Royals fan and was a proud supporter of his children and grandchildren and their sporting activities. Of all things he was a Godly man and he loved Jesus.
Scott was a member of the Hope Community Church, in Elwood, Kansas.
Preceding him in death was his parents; sisters, Carolyn Pettyjohn, Stephanie Wineinger-Phillips and Frances-Marlene Wineinger.
Survivors include wife of 45 years, Sandy Wineinger, of the home; children, Shannon (Doug) Roberts, of St. Joseph, Cristal (Christian) Fuller of, Waldron, Missouri, Shane (Alena) Wineinger, of St. Joseph, and Justin (Cayce) Wineinger, of St. Joseph; sister, Sharon Wineinger-McGrath, of Jacksonville, Florida; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Wineinger has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at Hope Community Church, where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Memorials are requested to the Hope Community Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
