ELWOOD, Kan. – Marlene Gay Clements, 74, of Elwood, Kansas, passed away Dec. 26, 2024, at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph. She was born March 11, 1950, to Leonard and Dorothy (Livingston) Young, in St. Joseph. She married Jimmy Clements in St. Joseph on July 22, 1988.
Proceeded in death by her loving husband of 36 years; her parents; brothers, James Young, Jerry (Maggie) Young, and Leonard (Anita) Young; sisters, Mildred (Raymond) Parker, and Sally Young; a grandson, Dayton Crockett.
Marlene worked at Prime Tanning, Affiliated Foods and then she got to enjoy her grandchildren and eventually the great and great-great-grandchildren. Marlene would love to be with her family, especially her grandkids. She cherished all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. We oftentimes joke that she was the “Elwood Grandma” due to all everyone calling her grandma and never addressing her by her name.
