Poe, Jason 1978-2024 St. Joseph, Mo.

Jason Poe, 46, St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024. He was born, in St. Joseph, on May 8, 1978, to Steve and Debbie Poe.

Jason was a 1997 graduate of Lafayette High School, he was known for his enduring work ethic and the joy he found in partnering with his best friend, Eddie, in the construction industry. His knack for repairing cars and zest for life shone brightly as he gracefully glided on his rollerblades, a pastime he enjoyed.

Jason’s heart belonged to his beloved daughter, Kinley Jo; he often said, “She was the best girl a Dad can ask for.” His hands were as skilled and sturdy as his spirit was jovial; his quick wit and convivial nature always lifted the spirits of those around him.

His legacy is carried on by his loving parents, Steven and Debbie Poe; and his daughter, Kinley Jo. A true friend and an adept handyman, Jason’s memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Pearl Poe; his maternal grandmother, Patty Powell; and his brother, Bret “Little” Poe.

The family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family suggest memorial contributions to the AFL-CIO.
