Jones, Rex 1955-2024 St. Joseph, Mo.

Rex Jones, 69, lost his fight with esophageal cancer and passed away on Dec. 15, 2024. He was born on Oct. 7, 1955, to William O. and Betty J. Jones. He graduated from Central High School in 1974 where he had done wrestling and weightlifting. After that he attended Hobart Institute. He worked at Jones Plbg and Htg, Archdekin & Jones Plbg and Htg, Jones and Son Plbg and was also the plumbing inspector for the city of St. Joseph.
He enjoyed bowling, shooting pool which he had been in several leagues, fishing, camping and boating on the Missouri River.
He married Cindy DeSpain on March 4 and for the short time they had together shared a lifetime of love.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Charissa Michelle Jones.
He is survived by his wife Cindy; and siblings, Owen L. Jones (Pati), Francie R. Archdekin (Joe), all of St. Joseph, and Cecil W. Jones (Melinda), Dallas Texas; children, Crystal Linder (John), Cherie Thompson (Derek), Rex Jones II, Tiffany Stanton (Walt), Aaron DeSpain (Emmalee); and several grandkids, nieces and nephews and three great- grandchildren.
A visitation for Rex will be held at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow after the visitation. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
