Shawn Michael McBride, 44, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, at the Liberty Hospital. He was born May 21, 1980, in St. Joseph.

Shawn graduated from Central High School, enjoyed working at Mosaic Life Care as a greeter, and was an avid St. Louis Rams fan. He enjoyed sitting outside on nice days, listening to his police scanner where he learned every street and cross street in St. Joseph, and watching his favorite TV shows.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Kay Garner; and uncles, Thomas and David McBride.

Survivors include his father, Michael (Kendal) McBride, St. Joseph; mother, Sharon Davis, St. Joseph; siblings, Chris (Becky) Gee, Belton, Missouri, Rhonda (Geoffrey) Gould, Lenexa, Kansas, Ginger (Patrick) McGuire, Maysville, Missouri; nieces, Bianca Gould, Gracie Garner, and Eisley McGuire; and nephews, Cody Garner and Owen McGuire; and aunts, Carol and Evelyn McBride.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home, with a memorial service starting at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, at the Rupp Funeral Home. He will be cremated under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home.
