Wilkerson, O.E. 1940-2024 Cameron, Mo.

CAMERON, Mo. – O.E. Wilkerson Jr., 84, passed away Dec. 6, 2024, at his home in Cameron, Missouri. He was born Aug. 29, 1940, to Opie E. and Nora L. (Gunter) Wilkerson, in Maryville, Missouri.

O.E. was a graduate of Stanberry, Missouri, High School and attended Northwest Missouri State College. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served on the USS Independence during the Cuban crisis. On June 2, 1963, he married Nina J. Cline, in Albany, Missouri.

O.E. worked as a storage clerk for TWA for 35 years and then in building maintenance for American Airlines for three years. He was a member of union IAM, Cameron First Christian Church and the CRMC Entertainers.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lloyd, Carroll, Max; sister, Arda Hughes.

O.E. is survived by his wife, Nina, of the home; daughter, Brenda (Phil) Crouse, Smithville, Missouri; son, Mark E. (Wanda) Wilkerson, Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Louise Cummins, Stanberry; four grandchildren, Ashley (Steve) Cox, Morgan (Erik) Odegard, Rachel (Garrett) Caron, Andrew Crouse (Taylor Vernon); five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Joshua and Gideon Cox, Emma and Owen Odegard.

Memorials may be made to Cameron First Christian Church or Central Christian College of the Bible, Moberly, Missouri.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at the First Christian Church, Cameron. Visitation, 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial in the Graceland Memorial Cemetery, Cameron. For online condolences, visit www.polandthompson.com
