Bartram Sr., Max A. 1939-2024 St. Joseph, Mo.

Max A. Bartram Sr., 85, St. Joseph, passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 2024. He was born Feb. 2, 1939, in St. Joseph, to Porter and Mary (Brownlee) Bartram.
Max proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1668.
On Jan. 16, 1969, Max married Penni Lynn Enslow, who survives of the home.
Max worked for Hillyard Industries, then for Sherwood Medical for 23 years until it closed. He also was a reserve deputy for the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office for many years.
Max enjoyed fishing in his younger years, and later doing DIY projects at home. He loved time with his grandchildren and was a wonderful grandpa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sherry Steele; granddaughter, Jordan Bartram; and brothers, Earl and Chris Bartram.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Penni; children, Christine Cantua (Mark), Billy Bartram (Lynn), Ronnie Bartram (Theresa), Tim Bartram (Kari), and Jennifer Ingram (Jason); 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Hurst; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1 p.m. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Mount Auburn Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
