Barbara went to her Heavenly Home on Nov. 29, 2024. She was born in St. Joseph on Aug. 27, 1935, to Claude and Merle Lee Stevenson.
She has been a member of Lake Avenue Missionary Baptist Church since 1959. The Church was founded by her grandfather, Clarence Stevenson, as a mission church in 1942.
Barbara attended Benton high school. She worked at Custom Cable for 19 years until they closed. She then helped her husband with his delivery business. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, she loved the Lord and never hesitated to invite people to church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband of 62 years, Alva “Sonny” Angst; and precious sister-in-law, Sharon Stevenson.
She is survived by two children, daughter, Deborah (Steve) Wilson and son, Rick Angst; four grandchildren, Dana (Nick) Smith, Derek (Jennifer) Wilson, Ricky (Brenda) Angst, Ericka (Dustin) Frieden; six great-grandchildren, Chloe (Rob) Haynes, Maxwell Smith, Dreamer Stone, Ethan Angst, Chase and Cade Frieden; two great-great- grandchildren, Lily and Severyn Haynes; along with brother, Ronnie (Marge) Stevenson; and sister, Linda Avery.
There will be a memorial service at Lake Avenue Baptist Church on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Steve Stevenson officiating.
