George W. Pyle III, 92, St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024.
He was born Sept. 29, 1932, to George W. II and Mildred B. (Glover) Pyle in Bluefield, West Virigina.
George married Doris Ann Parks on July 22, 1960.
An avid golfer, George’s passion for the sport was evident to all who knew him. His dedication led him to manage the Brunswick Golf Club under the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA), a role in which he took great pride and joy. In addition to his love for golf, George was a member of the Ashland United Methodist Church, contributing significantly to his spiritual community.
George’s commitment to service was further exhibited by his involvement in the Virginia Jaycees. As a member, he held various positions, influencing many lives with his leadership and dedication.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Jean Miller.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years; children, Rene Pyle, Suanne Baker (Devin), and Jennifer Holden (Mike); grandchildren, Anthony Tumminia, C.J. Baker (Danica), Brady Holden, Brett Holden (Julie), and Tucker Holden; one great-grandson, Gryffyn; sister, Anne Ivey (Jerry); and niece, Sammi Lambert.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10 a.m. Friday, Ashland United Methodist Church.
Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
