Taylor, Vernell 1931-2024 Cameron, Mo.

CAMERON, Mo. – Vernell Taylor, 93, passed away Nov. 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born near Weatherby, Missouri, Sept. 12, 1931, to Basil and Cecil (Fleming) Helms.
Vernell attended Winston High School, graduating in 1949. She worked as a waitress at a young age, later working many years in multiple places such as the Cameron Hospital, My Store, Walmart, GTE, Pringles and McCorkles, along with grooming dogs for over 25 years. Vernell enjoyed people and working in the community. She will be well remembered for her dedication through her work and many friendships. Vernell was an avid gardener who took great pride in mowing her lawn, landscaping and growing beautiful flowers.
She was a loving mother, and grandmother who will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; and brother, Covel Helms.
Survivors: children, Kent Taylor (Debbie Latimer), Cameron, Missouri, Mark (Kacey) Taylor, Hamilton, Missouri, Connie (Oliver) Tannett, Huntsville, Alabama; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirley Campbell; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, at Poland-Thompson Chapel. Visitation one hour prior, 1 to 2 p.m. Inurnment at Cameron Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Comfort Care Hospice.
