CAMERON, Mo. – Neva W. Davis, 91, of Cameron, Missouri, passed away Nov. 5, 2024. She was born June 28, 1933, to George A. and Cleda R. (McKeel) Pullen, in Oregon, Missouri.
Neva was a 1951 graduate of Oregon High School in Oregon. She received her teaching certificate from Northwest Missouri State University and went on to earn her bachelors of Education from Missouri Western State University. Neva taught elementary and middle school in St. Joseph, Cameron, Hamilton, Missouri, and Blue Springs, Missouri, where she made many enduring friendships. She also worked in fashion at Parkside Fashion, Claire’s Boutique and Dillards.
Neva was a member of Missouri State Teachers Association, Beta Sigma Phi and the Clinton County Missouri Democratic Club.
Neva was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Frank Day Sr. and Sam Davis; two sisters, Wianonia Black and Evelyn Doebbling-Kurtz.
Neva is survived by daughters, Susan (Roger) Wood, Cameron, Rebecca Day, Charlotte, North Carolina; two sons, Frank Day, Jr., Fort Myers Beach, Florida, William (Tracie) Day, Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Mack Pullen, Arvada, Colorado; nine grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren.
Always known for her keen sense of style, Neva enjoyed dressing in the latest trends. She was a social butterfly who loved spending time with family and friends. Reading was another one of her passions. Neva was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, Cameron.
A joint visitation and service will be held for Neva Davis and her former husband, Frank Day Sr., on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at the First Christian Church in Cameron. Visitation will be at noon with the funeral service at 1 p.m. A private family interment will be held at Cameron Memory Gardens following the funeral service.
