Glenn E. Taylor, 83, St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024.

He was born May 8, 1941, to Charles and Thelma (Pipes) Taylor, in Greencastle, Missouri.

Glenn was a beloved husband, father, and friend who lived a life dedicated to faith, family, and integrity. He began his career at the age of 17, enlisting in the United States Navy and served his country for 20 years as a Navy Corpman.

He had a passion for life that showed in his many interests. He was an avid golfer, a skilled bowler, and a joyful karaoke singer. A true car enthusiast, mechanic and wheeler-dealer. Known for being “handy as a pocket on a shirt,” he could fix just about anything, and his incredible skills were a gift to all who knew him.

He also enjoyed card games with family and friends. His strong principles were evident in his daily life. He showed deep love and devotion to his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, honesty, and the legacy of love he leaves behind.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Kenn; three sisters and three brothers.

He is survived by his lovely wife, Patty Taylor; his children, Robert, Richard/Amy, Roger, Noel, Seth, Angela, Tomi and Charles; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Farewell Services 3 p.m. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to National Coalition for Homeless Veterans.
