GRANT CITY, Mo. – Kathy Hunter, 66, Grant City, Missouri, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2024.

She was born Oct. 13, 1958, in Hamburg, Iowa, to Dale and Ruby (Lock) Schramm.

Kathy married Jerry Ziolkowski. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1989. She married Matthew Hunter on June 9, 1990. They later divorced but remained friends.

She held many construction jobs during her life, but her passion went into her favorite job of cooking for a restaurant/bar and grill.

Kathy enjoyed mushroom hunting, and playing shuffleboard, pool and 4-point pitch. She also loved to watch her sons play baseball.

She loved her family dearly, especially her grandkids. She was outgoing, ornery, and honest, known for her heart of gold with a lot of spice. She leaves a legacy of her love and spirit for everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Schramm; daughter, Brandy Lynn Ziolkowski; and siblings, Ruby Wardlow, Rose Van, and Lora Ordnez; and her first husband, Jerry Ziolkowski.

Survivors include her sons, Charles Hunter (Nicole), Cole Hunter, Chance Hunter (Courtney), and Cody Hunter (Breanna Harker); grandchildren, Patrick, Nevaeh Mae, Max, Ruby, Abbigale, and Oaklie; her mother, Ruby Schramm; siblings, Veronica Schramm, Virgil Schramm (Karen), Terry Schramm, and Teresa Burleson; former husband, Matthew Hunter; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.

Natural Farewell under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family suggests memorial contributions to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
