CAMERON, Mo. – Terrance “Terry” Lee Skinner, of rural Cameron, Missouri, passed away late Friday evening, Oct. 25, 2024. The son of Clyde D. Skinner and Shirley M. Skinner was born on Feb. 4, 1951, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The family moved to Iowa in 1955, where he attended the Bedford Community School District. He participated in football, basketball, track and wrestling. He graduated with the class of 1969.

Following high school, he worked in dirt construction for a few years before forming the Skinner Construction Company with his father. They worked side by side for most of their adult life. When Hurricane Katrina hit, they took their equipment south to work on the cleanup. He went on many more storms along the east coast and Midwest.

On April 30, 2005, he married Carolyn (Adams) Bauer, in Cameron. He was a member of St. Munchin Catholic Church and attended the church of Nazarene with Carolyn. He was a member of Union 101.

Later, he acquired a herd of goats and cattle. He worked many long and endless hours and days to provide for his family, and always enjoyed the companionship of his dogs.

Terry was a wonderful Christian who loved his family and God.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley, and son, Troy.

Terry is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of the home; father, Clyde Skinner, Cameron; sister, Connie (Stan) Weese, Grove, Oklahoma; Victoria Jones, Cameron; stepdaughters, Jennifer Hart (Marcelo Hernandez), East Moline, Illinois, Lori Pottorff, Bethany, Missouri; stepson, Michael (Kathryn) Bauer, Boulder, Colorado; grandchildren, Hailey Jackson, Madelyn Jackson, Chloe Jackson, Fern Pottorff, Max Pottorff, Lilla Bauer; many nieces and nephews; little friend, Maddison Burgess, and her mother, Jessica Barker.

Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, at St. Munchin Catholic Church.

Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Visitation was 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, at Poland-Thompson Chapel, second visitation, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Rita’s building fund, or Church of the Nazarene.
