CLINTON, Mo. – Michael Francis Harrison Smith passed away Oct. 11, 2024. He was born Aug. 22, 1985, in St. Joseph. He was raised in Cameron, Missouri, by his parents Randy and Marcia (Overbey) Smith. Michael accepted Jesus as his savior and was baptized Oct. 9, 1994. He was a member of First Baptist Church, in Cameron.

Michael played many sports and was involved in many activities, but mostly he just loved being with his friends. He graduated from Cameron High School in 2004. He attended Missouri Western State University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 2012. In 2014 Michael became a father. Dominic has been the joy in Michael’s life. He loved being a father. Michael even moved to Clinton, Missouri, to be closer to him. Michael was currently employed at Wal-Mart, in Clinton.

Michael enjoyed playing poker with his buddies and watching NBA basketball games, but his greatest passion was watching the Denver Broncos play football.

Michael leaves behind his mother and his father; one brother and sister-in-law, Logan (Tessa) Smith, Cameron; his son, Dominic Smith, Clinton; grandmother, Ethel Smith, Atchison, Kansas; his niece and nephew, Harper and Warren Smith, Cameron; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and grandmother, Francis and Grace Overbey; paternal grandfather, George Smith; and many other family members who were waiting to see him in Heaven.

“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be.”

Memorials may be given to Celebrate Recovery in care of First Baptist Church, 1531 Vansant Rd, Clinton. Michael found acceptance, support and healing with this group and he would want others to do the same. Visitation: 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Cameron. A Celebration of Life service will be held at noon following visitation.
