Lorine Mae (Witcofski) Lane died on Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, in St Joseph.

Born near Crab Orchard, Nebraska, on April 22, 1926, to Lydia Pearl (Robinson) and Frank Witcofski. She married Curtis Charles Lane on Sept. 24, 1951. They made their home in Blue Springs, Nebraska, and Wymore, Nebraska, for 66 years. Since 2018, Lorine lived in St. Joseph with her daughter and family.

Lorine was preceded in death by her parents; three older sisters and brothers-in-law, Annabell (Raymond) Ridder, Alice (Emil) Yeck and Wilma (Arnold) Yeck; her husband, Curt (1998); and two sons, Rex Allen (1957) and Kevin Curtis (2000).

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lori (Stephen) McAlister; and three granddaughters, Stephanie (Firas) McAlister-Abdulrazaq, of Lincoln, Nebraska, Lillian McAlister, of Bryan, Texas, and Madeline McAlister, of St. Joseph.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at the Blue Springs United Methodist Church, Blue Springs, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Willing Helpers of Blue Springs United Methodist Church with whom Lorine volunteered for more than 50 years. Checks payable to “Willing Helpers” and mailed in care of Carol Ann Allen, P.O. Box 163, Blue Springs, NE 68318.
