Clarence J. Jacobs, 86, St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024.

He was born April 18, 1938, to Myrtle (Jacobs) Nussbaum, in St. Joseph.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force 1955-1959, and on June 24, 1960, he married his sweetheart, Sandra McDowell. Bob retired in 2000 after working for 32 years as a maintenance mechanic for Wire Rope Corporation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Lloyd Nussbaum; his daughter, Patricia Lee Jacobs; his grandson, Caleb Graham Smith; and his brother, Albert L. Jacobs.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Cynthia A. Smith (Tayne); and son, Jefferson L. Jacobs; grandsons, Jefferson L. Jacobs II (Catherine), Matthew E. Jacobs (Laura), and Tayne A. Smith II; niece, Linda Jacobs; nephews, Mark Jacobs, Carlos Wuttke, and Michael Wuttke; plus seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will gather with friends 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
