Diana Bodde 77, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024, in St. Joseph. She was born May 19, 1947, in St. Joseph, daughter of Flora Matthews and Ernest Abbott. She attended Benton High School. She married Fred on Feb. 1, 1964, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She worked at Shelter Insurance and as a beautician.

Diana enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling, dancing, visiting the casino, and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Diana was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Abbott; mother, Flora Ann (John Potts) Matthews; son-in-law, D.J. Stewart; sisters, Sherry Sue Redmond, Jerry Abbott, and Virginia Abbott.

Survivors include husband, Fred Bodde, of the home; daughters, Stacey Bodde, of St. Joseph, Tracey Stewart and Karen (Shannon) StClaire, of St. Joseph; sisters, Carol Porter and Amy (Art) Hecker, both of St. Joseph; brother, Billy Ray Abbott, of St. Joseph; and four grandchildren; nieces, and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Father Mark Yates Celebrant. The Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Rupp Funeral Home by Deacon Marcelino Canchola. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
