Jenkins, Janice K. 1944-2024 Cypress, Texas

CYPRESS, Texas – Janice Kay O’Meara Jenkins, 80, of Cypress, Texas, passed away on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, at her home with her children at her side. She was born on June 3, 1944, in St. Joseph, to the late Dorothy Robbins O’Meara and Charles O’Meara.
Janice graduated from Lafayette High School in 1962. On June 9, 1962, she married Lealon “Pinky” Ray Jenkins, her partner in life, at Co-Cathedral Catholic Church, in St. Joseph.
Janice and her family moved to Beaumont, Texas, in 1978, and she and her husband Lealon operated JanCo General Contractors until retiring in 2004. Their largest remodeling project was the couple’s historic home. She was a wonderful matriarch who enjoyed creating a warm home for her family. Janice also enjoyed extensive travel across the United States with Lealon.
She is survived by sister, Patricia Saulan, and her husband Henry, of St. Joseph; daughters, Ginger Burgess, and her husband, Bob, of Questa, New Mexico, Jill Borque with Brad Dickes, of Orange, Texas; son, Jeremy Jenkins with Martha Lopez, of Cypress; grandchildren, Alaina Yepez, Gabriel Yepez, Adrian Yepez, and Kelsea Jenkins; and numerous family members and friends gathered over a lifetime.
The family thanks everyone who supported Janice through her illness including the medical professionals involved in her care. Cremation arrangements were handled under the direction of Lovestrong Cremation Center in Spring, Texas.
