Betty Opal Sutter, 92, St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024.
Born in St. Joseph Dec. 4, 1931, to Fred and Georgia (Cottrill) Sutter.
She attended Cathedral School, the Convent of Sacred Heart, class of 1950, and Gards Business School.
She was a member of the Cathedral Catholic Church, the Alter society and Convent Lunch Bunch. A past member of Legion of Mary and Legion of Mary Auxiliary, a Charter member and past President of the Women In Construction.
She was a retired bookkeeper for Ace Dewey Construction, E.L. Crawford Construction (22 yrs) S.M Construction, Family Concrete and Joe Modlin Construction.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jeanette; and brothers, David Sutter, Bro., Denis Herman Sutter, F.S.; nephew, Robert Sutter; and niece, Jeannette Sabatka.
Survivors include her brother, Aubrey Sutter (Annie), from Chesapeake Bay, Virginia, and several nieces and nephews. Also, her special children, Dylan, Jesse and Josiah Gibson
She wanted to Thank all her friends who helped her, so that she could stay living in her home on her own.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery. Parish Rosary 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church. The family will gather with friends 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Altar Society of St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church.
