Clara Lee (Schneider) Archdekin, 90, St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024.
She was born March 11, 1934, to Homer and Ethel (Harr) Schneider in Clarksdale, Missouri.
She graduated from Central High School and later attended Gard’s Business School.
On Sept. 11, 1954, Clara married James “Jim” M. Archdekin, in Cosby, Missouri. They were married for nearly 68 years before Jim passed away on May 1, 2022.
Clara worked for Quaker Oats in the accounting department for two years before joining her husband as the bookkeeper for their family businesses, Bill & Jim’s Service and Eastside Auto Supply. She retired in 1992.
Clara enjoyed travelling with her husband and their family. They embarked on many adventures throughout the years, but their favorite destination was their cabin at Lake of the Ozarks.
Her family remembers her for her quiet demeanor and ornery streak. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Ethel Schneider; husband, Jim Archdekin; infant daughter, Janet Lee Archdekin; and siblings, Delores Maag, Rosemary Archdekin, Naomi Easter, Elaine Hill, and Fred Schneider.
Survivors include her children, Ron Archdekin (Nancy), Diane Gagnon (Gary), and Carol Harris (Tony); grandchildren, Karen Archdekin Kloepping (Wade), Laura Gagnon Vos (Tyler), Amie Gagnon Shaw (Rod), and Sarah Gagnon Baur; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Freida Wiedmaier; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
Farewell Services 1 p.m. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
