Rebecca S, Allen, 86, St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024.

She was born Aug. 13, 1938, in Nevada, Missouri, to Ralph and Rebecca (Parr) Cook.

After retiring from her longtime job at Wyeth Hardware, Rebecca moved to Branson, Missouri, where she worked in gift shops. She loved to be out and among people. She also loved to travel.

Rebecca later returned to St. Joseph where she made many new friends at Westchester Village.

She was a loving, giving mother and grandmother known as “GiGi” to her grandkids, who enjoyed being with her family and cooking and baking for them. She loved to play cards but took it very seriously and usually won.

More recently, Rebecca fought a hard, four-year battle with cancer but would not give up. Her doctors called her “Superwoman.”

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carla Kay Wilkerson; son-in-law, Mike Hart; and siblings, Doris Ross, Kay Wawrzyniak, and Alice Phillips.

Survivors include her children, Mark Wilkerson (Cindy), Lois Wilkerson (Marc Buis), and Kristen Hart; grandchildren, Kyle, Amanda, Heather, Haley, and Michael; eight great-grandchildren; numerous other extended family members and friends; and her beloved dog, Bella.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
