MARYVILLE, Mo. – Kerlin Y. Davis, age 87, of Maryville, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024. She was born on Wednesday, March 10, 1937, in Barnard, Missouri, to Harold and Thelma (Tompkins) Dougan.

Kerlin was a graduate of Horace Mann High School and worked as a homemaker in her own home. She was a member of the Eagles F.O.E. and enjoyed going on sightseeing trips throughout the country. Kerlin also loved to travel locally to follow her favorite bands, listening to their performances and dancing with friends. She cherished socializing over coffee and spending time visiting with loved ones.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Lonnie) Tompkins, of Maryville, Alan Langley, of Maryville, and Bill (Tammy) Davis, of Jacksonville, Florida. Kerlin is also survived by her sisters, Betty Cooksey, of St. Joseph, Ruth (Ron) Bailey, of Maryville, and Susie (Richard) Strauch, of Barnard, Missouri. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joshua Gilbert, Colten Langley, Colby Pankau, Jeff Davis, Jenn Sayers, and Jonathan Gregory; several great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Kerlin was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ivan Langley in 1995; her second husband, Gene Davis in 2017; and her sons, Roger Langley and Michael Langley; granddaughter, Dawny Gilbert; sister, Etta Mae Langley; and brothers-in-law, Loren “Shorty” Langley and Gerald Cooksey.

A graveside service will be held at Nodaway Memorial Gardens, in Maryville, at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Bram Funeral Home, Maryville. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
