SAVANNAH, Mo. – Born April 8, 2018, in Hungary, K-9 Horus was a joyful and fun German Shepherd. He joined the Savannah, Missouri, Police Department in February 2021, after completing an extensive eight-week training with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department,

Horus was accomplished in drug detection, search and rescue, evidence recovery, building and article searches, and criminal apprehension. He faithfully served and protected his community with 121 complete deployments, 76 drug indications, 47 drug seizures and 49 arrests. His contributions to the Savannah Police Department will forever be appreciated and remembered.

Horus enjoyed his work, running and swimming, his family, and his partners in blue. Most of all he delighted in any time he could spend chasing around basketballs or soccer balls.

Farewell Services 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, on Horus Drive, located northeast of the Savannah Cemetery, on the corner of S. 3rd and Benton St., in Savannah.
