FAUCETT, Mo. — Charles Geiler, 85, of Faucett, Missouri, passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at a local health care facility. He was born Feb. 28, 1939, in St. Joseph, to Bessie and Julius Geiler. He graduated from North Platte High School, class of 1957. He served in the U.S. Army, based at Ft. Leonard Wood from 1957-1959. On Feb. 12, 1960, he married June Wood in St. Joseph.
Charles began his career at Westab and later worked at General Motors, retiring after 31 years. He loved outdoors and taking drives through Squaw Creek. He especially enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially deer, turkey and mushrooms. He was very giving and enjoyed sharing his harvest. Charles was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Young; and brother, Arthur Geiler.
Survivors include wife of 64 years, June Geiler, of the home; daughters, Pam (Fred) Meng, of Troy, Kansas, Charlyne (Bill) Burns, of St. Joseph, and Michelle (Vince) Lake, of St. Joseph; brother, J.D. (Mary) Geiler, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; sister, Julie Philipi, of Agency, Missouri; grandchildren, Ryan, Amy, Darryl, Katarina, Tyler and Blaisey; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; and extended family, Bud Munsterman and Rick Terhune.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, at Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday. The Family request casual attire for the services. Memorials are requested to the Faucett Baptist Church or Missouri Department of Conservation.
