Nicholas Dion Murphy, 44, St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024. He was born on Sept. 11, 1979, in St. Joseph.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints. He married Olga Arce on Feb. 22, 2023. She survives of the home.

Nicholas enjoyed painting and was an avid sports fan. His favorites were the Kansas City Chiefs, KU basketball and Alabama Crimson Tide. In his youth Nicholas was athletically gifted, participating in baseball, football and wrestling.

Nicholas was full of personality. He had the best sense of humor and a heart of gold. He would help anyone if he was able and was well-loved by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his biological mother, Tamala Boydston, and his grandparents.

Survivors include his wife, Olga Arce; parents, Michael and Deli Murphy; daughter, Ryleigh Lawrence; siblings, Jacy Wawrzniak, Gabriel Murphy (Cora), Sadie Snow (Ryan), Preston Murphy, and Reece Murphy (Mary); along with several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Farewell Services 10 a.m. Saturday, Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints. The family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Friends of the Animal Shelter.
