Nadine Kretzer passed away on July 30, 2024. Nadine was born on Feb. 15, 1935, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Gail Fisher. In 1943, the family moved to California. In 1952, Nadine married Emerson Kretzer Jr. They later divorced.
After raising her family, she returned to school, graduating from Missouri Western State College in 1980 with an RN nursing degree. She was employed at Heartland Health System in the surgery department for 17 years, retiring in 1999.
After retiring, she worked at Mid-State Beauty Supply, Walmart and Western Missouri Correctional Center until 2007.
Nadine loved fishing and dolphins.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her sons, Michael Joseph Kretzer and John Charles Kretzer; sister, Donna Rottler; grandsons, David Scott Kepner, Michael Dean Kretzer, and Brian Patrick Brandon; great-grandson, Ethan Thomas Koster; and son-in-law, Dennis Smith.
Nadine is survived by her children, Marie Hoyt (Ron), Gail Smith, Emerson Kretzer (Denise), David Kretzer, Margaret Wells (Skeet Rufener), Timothy Kretzer (Karrie), and Karl Kretzer (Regina); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great- great-grandchildren.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, Nadine requested donations be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
