SKIDMORE, Mo. – Marian Jean (John) Everhart, 90, of Skidmore, Missouri, passed at home, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, with family at her side.

Born in Peru, Nebraska, on Aug. 19, 1933, to Albert Wendell and Alice Lucile (Strait) John. She had lived in the Skidmore area since 1955, previously in Corning, Iowa. She received her BS in Education from Northwest Missouri State University.

Marian taught elementary school for over 42 years in Skidmore and the Nodaway-Holt School District.

Memberships: United Methodist Church, Skidmore, Skidmore Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Missouri Girls State, Missouri State Teacher Association, Nodaway County Retired Teachers Association, American Legion Auxiliary, Widowed Persons Service, Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, Skidmore Community Betterment, DAR, Rosa Ann Hospital Auxiliary, and Tri-City Friendship Center.

She married William Ezra Everhart Jr., on April 15, 1956, he passed away in 1993. She was also preceded in death by her son, David Everhart in 2015; her brother, Gary John; and her sister, Cathy Harvey.

She leaves her daughter, Cynthia, of Skidmore; five grandchildren, Ezran Everhart, William D. (Joni) Everhart, Joseph Everhart, Natalie Jackson, and Jena (JJ) Baumli; 10 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Phyllis and Eldon Everhart; and nieces and nephews.

Services, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri. Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery, Skidmore.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, 2024, at the funeral home.

Memorials: Birthday Book Program, or the school library, to use as the librarian sees fit, at the Nodaway-Holt Elementary School, 409 Hickory Street, Maitland, MO 64466. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
