HELENA, Mo. – Robin Joan Lower, age 55, of Helena, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024, in Kansas City, Kansas. Robin was born Sept. 18, 1968, in Chillicothe, Missouri, daughter of Gerald and Loeta (Gardner) Hays.
Robin grew up in Meadville, Missouri, where she was active in softball, basketball, Girl Scouts, and theatre. Robin graduated in 1986 having the Gold Award for Scouting and a Scholarship to Culver Stockton College. Robin worked with special need adults and children in St. Joseph for 30 years. She married John A. Lower on June 27, 1998, and they shared a loving and supportive marriage for 26 years. Robin graduated from Missouri Western State University in 2005 with a social work degree and supervised several group homes in St. Joseph. Robin had a passion for horses and dogs and lived to help others. She will be remembered for her big heart, smile and laughter and willingness to help everyone. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by her husband, John; a brother, Glen Hays (Sherri); two half sisters, Laura (David), of California, and Martha, of Iowa; one aunt, Louise Morley-Trenton. She had two nephews, Rodger (Amber) and Jacob; one niece, Chelsea (Cody); and two great nieces, Thea and Lakland.
She was preceded in death by her parents and uncle, Larry Morley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, in Wien. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until time of service at the church in Wien, Missouri. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, in Wien.
