CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -Ruth Lynette (Simmons) Coons, 68, passed away at home with her family by her side on July 12, 2024. Ruth was born in St. Joseph to Everett and Betty Simmons, who preceded her in death.

Ruth had an amazing sense of humor and infectious laugh. She excelled in Fast Pitch Softball when she was young and won a Missouri State Regional Tournament as their Catcher. She loved animals and had many pets. She loved her family and was willing to do anything for them, if needed. She worked for Affiliated Foods in the Printing Department for over 20 years, before relocating with her family to Clarksville, Tennessee, where she was employed by the Rainbow Tile Company for several years.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Erin Simmons and her husband (Josh); and son, Eric Coons; two grandchildren, Harmony and Tanner; her brother, Stephen Simmons (Nancy); and her sister, Beth (Simmons) Green; as well as nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all.

She will be cremated in Clarksville and interned at Memorial Park Cemetery next to her mom and dad. No services have been planned at this time. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
