Burks, Marilynn 1949-2024 St. Joseph, Mo.

Marilynn Burks, 75, St. Joseph, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital on Monday, June 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Marilynn was born on April 26, 1949, in Stanberry, Missouri, to the late Lloyd and Mary Jo (Womach) Miller. She was a 1967 graduate of King City High School.

Marilynn married Chester LaVern Burks on June 12, 1970. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Beyond devoting her life caring for her family, Marilynn also worked at American Family Insurance for numerous years.

Mrs. Burks was talented in arts and crafts, and enjoyed scrapbooking, needlepoint and sewing. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and was a doting grandma.

Marilynn is survived by her husband of 53 years, Chester; son, Tim Burks and wife, Jen; daughter, Pamela Osborn and husband Barry; four grandchildren, Zachary, Alexa, Courtney and Cody; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marilynn was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Luane Miller.

Funeral Service 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, 307 South 6th Street, Savannah, MO 64485. Interment Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, Missouri.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, at our chapel.
