Micky Cooper, 75, St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

He was born Sept. 27, 1948, in St. Joseph, to Charles and Mildred (Morris) Cooper. Micky grew up in St. Joseph and graduated in the class of 1967 from Lafayette High School, where he was named 1st Team All-City in football.

Micky married Kris Kobett on Dec. 6, 1968. She survives of the home.

He worked in sales for many years in different parts of the United States.

Micky enjoyed fishing, golf and watching the Chiefs. In his younger years he was a star fastpitch softball player for Walnut Products. He was recently inducted into the Missouri State Hall of Fame for his achievements.

He loved spending time with family. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother-in-law, as well as the “perfect” husband.

Micky was an all-around nice guy, a straight-shooter with a tremendous work ethic who believed in doing things the right way.

He leaves behind many lasting, precious memories for his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Gary and Ernie Cooper.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Kris; daughters, Dana Gray (Chad) and Adria Cooper; grandchildren, Kolton, Kylie, Hattie and Jax; great-grandson, Hayes and another great-grandchild on the way; numerous other extended family members; and a host of friends.

The family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
