MOUND CITY, Mo. – James David Bowness was born April 10, 1958, in Fairfax, Missouri, to Phillip and Joan (Burke) Bowness. He went to his Savior on May 29, 2024.
Jim attended school in Mound City, Missouri from first grade to twelth grade, graduating in 1976. In 1980, he graduated from the University of Missouri.
On June 4, 1982, Jim and Angie Hall were united in marriage at Concordia Lutheran Church. They raised three children, Katharyn, Jackson and Dallas. Jim was called “Dad” by many children through the years, welcoming many to his home in time of need.
Jim was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and farmed all his life on the family farm with his father and son.
Jim left behind his wife, Angie, of the home; his children, Katharyn, of Kansas City, Kansas, Dallas Mueller Smith (JC), of St. Joseph, and Jackson (Aubrey), of Fairfax; one sister, Christina Bowness Webster (Kevin), of Mound City; and one brother, Kevin Bowness, of St. Joseph; one grandson, Landen Heming; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Mound City. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
