Anna E. Fry, 99, of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024, in St. Joseph. She was born Feb. 20, 1925, in Savannah, Missouri, daughter of the late Anna and George Daily. She graduated from Benton in 1944, then worked various jobs through the years, retiring from Peachtree Door as a forklift operator. She enjoyed crafting, making homemade Christmas candy and cookies, but above all, spending time with her family. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and St. James Altar Society.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Fry Sr.; sons, Edward Fry Jr. and Gerry Fry; sisters, Georgie, Ginger, and Mary; and brother, Maurice.
Survivors include son, Ronald (Kay) Fry, of Florida; granddaughters, Stacey Unzicker (Richard Humbard), of Leavenworth, Kansas, Christy (Brian) Pendleton, Heather (Brian) Tipton, both of St. Joseph, Kelly Fry, of Newton, North Carolina, and Danelle (Joe) Hoffer; grandsons, Josh (Katie) Fry, Marc (Adriana) Bridger and Scott (Miriam) Bridger; 16 great-grandchildren; one great- great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special neighbor, Judy Munger.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the St. James Catholic Church. The Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Rupp Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the St. James Altar Society or St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
