Wendy Marie Sparkman, 53, St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024.
She was born on Feb. 28, 1971, to Harold G. and Linda C. (Walker) Lewis, in Kansas City, Kansas.
She married Max Dee Sparkman on Dec. 31, 1992. They were married for 31 years.
Wendy dedicated her life to being a mother while working hard to earn her bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She served as an elementary school teacher for 23 years in Buckeye, Arizona, before retiring and moving to St. Joseph in 2017. She then worked as the assistant manager at Fast Gas on Mitchell for four years.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed fishing, camping and roller skating. Wendy loved being outdoors and appreciating the beauty of nature. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Max; her children, Amber Christine Williamson (Steven), Kristy Dee Coats (Adam), and Shawna Loree Gomez (Jesse); and her grandchildren, Anabelle Kolene Suelay Diaz, Andrew Daren Lucas, Day Victoria Bourg-Coats, Emma Marie Coats, Grace Wanda Lee, Scarlett Rose Gomez and Sky Antimony Bourg-Coats.
Natural Farewell under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Wendy’s GoFundMe Campaign at www.gofundme.com/f/wendy-sparkman.
