Peggy J. Jennings, 89, of St Joseph, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024, at University of Kansas Hospital, in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born May 21, 1934, in Halls, Missouri, daughter of Opal and William Hook. She married Homer Jennings on Dec. 30, 1950. She worked at HD Lee, Peachtree Door and 1st Street Graphics. She enjoyed playing Bingo, playing cards around the table with her family, and taking drives around the lake. Peggy was a member of Missouri Valley Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer Jennings; sisters, Mary (Rob) West and Opal (Elmer) Kowitz; brothers, Joseph (Betty) and Jim Hook; sons-in-law, Rick Brooks, Vilas Brew Oglesby and Stephen Tompkins.

Survivors include sister, Viola (John) Donahoo, of St. Joseph; children, Linda Oglesby, of St. Joseph, Ray (Denise) Jennings, of St. Joseph, Patty Brooks, of St Joseph, Nancy (James) Deming, of St. Joseph, Roger (Amy) Jennings, of Grain Valley, Missouri, Monte (Cindy) Jennings, of St. Joseph, and Terry (Krystal) Jennings, of Hancock, Iowa; sister-in-law, Nancy Hook, of Buffalo, Missouri; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Rupp Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society.
