Danny Armstrong, 60, St. Joseph, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024.

He was born on Feb. 28, 1964, to Kenneth and Vera (Dankof) Armstrong, in Hamburg, Iowa.

He grew up in Burlington Junction, Missouri, where his father owned and operated a mechanic shop. His passion for cars started at the young age of three as he worked alongside his father.

Danny started working for Car City Chrysler, which later became Reed Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in St. Joseph. His career spanned for over 30 years, earning him several awards, most recently being named “Technician of the Year” in 2019.

On June 20, 1992, he married Patty Sue. She preceded him in death on Dec. 6, 2019, after nearly 27 years together.

Danny enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing, camping and riding go-karts. Every year, his family would go camping and attend the state fair together. As the years went on, he enjoyed spoiling his beloved grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patty Sue Armstrong; and their dog, Rickie.

Survivors include his daughters, Amy Shuman (Robin) and Lori Kissick (Tony); grandchildren, Stephanie (Justin), Corey (Sammi), Daniel (Johnni), Kylie (Jimmy), Kelsee (Jymon), and Jacob (Kayla); 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Denise Hoskins; brothers, Kenneth and David Armstrong; nieces, Kathi, Kristie and Hannah; and his best buddy, Buster.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1 p.m. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment at a later date, Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
