SAVANNAH, Mo. – Katie Lee Baker, 87, of Savannah, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, at her home in Savannah. She was born July 14, 1936, in St. Joseph, daughter of Ann (Griffin) and Emory Slaybaugh. On Feb. 20, 1958, she married Lewis Dale Baker. She worked at as a Med Tech, retiring after 30+ years of service. Katie loved horses and dogs. Her hobbies included painting, gardening, and going camping. She was an active member of the Savannah Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lewis Dale Baker in 1985; daughter, Jo Ann “Rose” Milbourn; and son, Paul Apadoca.

Survivors include children, Karma Kissick, of St. Joseph, Sherry (Jim) Marshall, of Savannah, Dianna (Nathan) Cox, of Savannah, Ben Baker, of Conway, Arkansas, Tina (Mike) Protzman, of Savannah and two granddaughters who she helped raise, Katiefaye (Patrick) Seelye and Kim (Daymon) Minor, and many more grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Ms. Baker has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. A Remembrance Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2024, at the Senior Center, 12737 State Hwy E, Savannah.

Memorials are requested to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses-Savannah Congregation.
