Carl Alfred Modlin Jr., 55, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, in a St. Joseph hospital. He was born July 28, 1968, in St. Joseph, son of Vickie and Carl Alfred “Al” Modlin Sr. He graduated from Savannah, Missouri, High School in 1986 and worked many years at labor union #579. He enjoyed camping, mushroom hunting, the outdoors, and golfing. He was a member of King Hill Lodge #376 and a Catholic.

Carl was preceded in death by mother, Vickie Lynette Carlisle.

Survivors include father, Carl Alfred Modlin Sr.; daughters, Brianna Lynn Modlin (Travis Beaver), and Chyenne Hayes, both of St. Joseph; former spouse, Rhonda Larsen; grandchildren, Kiara Beaver, Ryleigh, Ayverie, and Lennon; sisters, Stefanie (Chris) Tucker, Clinton, Kentucky, Monica (David) Thomas, Oakridge, Missouri, and Cynthia (Mark) Brown, of Farragut, Iowa; as well as several, nieces and nephews,

The Mass of Commemoration will be celebrated on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Cathedral of St. Joseph, Fr. Stephen Hanson Celebrant. The Inurnment will be at the Tharp Cemetery, Craig, Missouri, at a later date.
