John Joseph Bucher, 89, St. Joseph, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024.

He was born on July 18, 1934, to Francis X. and Nellie Bucher, in St. Joseph.

On July 12, 1952, he married Wilma B. Key, and together they shared nearly 62 years together before her passing in 2014.

John had a strong work ethic that started at the young age of 13. He worked for Ace Scale Company for several years.

In his younger years, John loved to go bowling and tinkering with old cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife; and his brother, Francis Xavier Bucher Jr. (Judy).

Survivors include his sons, John “Mike” Bucher (Reta) and Floyd “Dan” Bucher (Pam); five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Farewell Services 10 a.m. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

The family will gather with friends 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
