Dorothy (Nolan) Gross, 66, St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
She was born Aug. 7, 1957, in St. Joseph, to Daniel and Joyce (Monday) Nolan.
Dorothy married Daniel John Gross on Nov. 30, 1976. He preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 2012.
She went to nursing school and earned her LPN degree, and also built three successful businesses with her husband.
Dorothy enjoyed tending to her flower garden and watching and raising wildlife.
Known for her selflessness and big heart, Dorothy was a family woman whose kids and grandkids were her everything.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Daniel; her parents; son, Daniel John Gross II; and siblings, Martha Keith, Linda Bode, and Daniel Lee Nolan.
Survivors include her daughters, Chelsey Gross (Matt), and Rachel Justice (Steve); grandchildren, Kileigh “Ki” Gross, Kollin “Bubby” Gross, Sami “Beano” Justice (John), Jordan “Jordy Girl” Melendez (Nicolas), Beau “Bo-Bo” Gross (Allie), and Kyler “Boogie” Williams; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Olivia, Emberlynn, Mariana, Oaklyn, Isabella, Presley, and Princeton; brother, Michael Nolan; numerous other extended family and friends; and her beloved pets, Bentley, Sophie and Bella.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1 p.m. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Noyes Home for Children or a children’s hospital of the donor’s choice.
