Michael Lawrence Rucker, 66, passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2024, at his home.

Born in St. Joseph. He was the son of Charles and Agnus ( Drennen) Rucker. He was a graduate of Central High School.

He married Carolyn Steeby in 1980, and they shared 35 years of marriage together.

Mike was an avid guitar player, and loved fishing, always hoping for “a bigger one than Jeff”. He enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren all his “master fisherman skills”.

Mike was proceeded in death by his beloved wife; daughter, Ammie; and his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Annie Jo Rucker; son, Kevin Rucker; brother and sister-in-law, John and Tina Rucker; sister, Rita Sharp; and his grandchildren, Madison Rucker, Lillian Roe, Jack Roe, and Sebastian Rucker .

Mr. Rucker has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Michael Rucker Memorial Fund, c/o Rupp Funeral Home.
