BELTON, Mo. – Andrew “Andy” Davis, 76, Belton, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away, March 28, 2024.

He was born Dec. 27, 1947, in Mound City, Missouri, to Eldon and Wilma Jean (McDonald) Davis. He was raised in Mound City and graduated from Mound City High School in 1965. He then joined the U.S. Air Force; receiving an honorable discharge.

He then returned to Mound City and worked for Travel & Transport, in St. Joseph, where he met his former wife, Sherry Binder. They married in 1973, and had their son, Sean, the following year.

He then worked for Memorial Park Cemetery and for Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel for 15 years, retiring from Triumph Foods in 2010.

Survivors include his son, Sean Davis (Tina), of Raymore, Missouri; grandchildren, Chase and Kennedy Davis; two brothers, Lloyd Davis, Glen Davis; a sister, Patty Judy; sister-in-law, Sheila Murray; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Sherry; and a sister, Peggy Horseman.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Services will be Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
