KING CITY, Mo. – We are sad to announce the passing of Robert Eugene Muff, of King City, Missouri. He passed away at the age of 77 on Sunday, March 17, 2024, surrounded by loved ones after battling acute kidney failure.

He was born in King City on Aug. 22, 1946, to Albert and Ada (Brinser) Muff.

He grew up in King City and graduated from high school there in 1964. He then attended Stevens Auto and Electric Trade School in Kansas City to work on appliances. He was hired at Acme Stove and Electric in 1965. While working in Kansas City he met the neighbor girl who would become his wife. He married Donna Sue Messenger on Nov. 19, 1966, in a family home. In total they had three children, Julie, Lisa, and Robert. He worked at Acme for 16 years before becoming self-employed at Bob’s Appliances.

He bought a farm in King City in 1986 and resided there until he left this earth. He enjoyed watching his grandkids and was an avid Chiefs fan. He was always cracking jokes at your expense, it meant he loved you. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna Muff; and siblings, Juanita Veale, Helen Loubey, and Albert “Junior” Muff.

Robert is survived by his children, Julie Miller, Lisa and Todd Stegman, Robert and Gina Muff, all of King City; brother, Leroy Muff, St. Joseph; grandchildren, Tyler Miller, Mariah Maudlin, Garrett Stegman, Shanley Morton, Parker and Adalyn Muff; great- grandchildren, Harlen and Hayden Maudlin, Ruby and Rowan Stegman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Roberson Funeral Home, King City. Burial will follow in King City Cemetery, King City. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Robert Muff Memorial Fund to be designated later in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 153, King City, MO 64463.
